Professor Andreas Obermair and the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer (QCGC) Research team are currently coordinating our annual research symposium for gynaecological cancer patients, families and other interested members of the community. This event provides progress and results being generated from our research trials and practical advice/information useful for all women during and post gynaecological cancer treatment.

The symposium shares current knowledge and research that we are keen to share with our patients. This year our line up is as follows:

  • Prof Monika Janda, QUT– Prevalence, incidence and risk factors of lymphoedema following gynaecological cancer: results from a longitudinal cohort study (LEGS)
  • Dr Robyn Box, Qld Lympoedema and Breast Oncology Physiotherapy – How to treat and prevent lymphoedema?
  • Dr Shaun McGrath, Research Fellow, QCGC Research – Update on genetic testing and gynaecological cancer
  • Dr Jeffrey Goh, Medical Oncologist - How does chemotherapy work?
  • Ms Elise Worthington, ABC journalist – Personal experience with BRCA1 gene
  • Prof Andreas Obermair, QCGC Research Director – Gynaecological cancer research update.

We hope you can join us for our symposium - an event enjoyed by patients and guests each year.
