2025 UQ Giving Day
UQ Giving Day
Thanks to the incredible support from the UQ community on UQ Giving Day, we reached our $50,000 target! This means we can start ground-breaking work on the development of a blood test to support earlier detection of cervical cancer – currently 1000 Australian women are diagnosed with cervical cancer annually and one third of these women will not survive.
Special thanks to Cherish Women’s Cancer Foundation and UQ for providing matched funding and tripling the impact of every donation. We’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey.
Accelerating Hope for Women with Cervical Cancer
Despite being preventable, cervical cancer will not be eradicated in Australia until 2080. Treatment is often physically and emotionally gruelling, and screening rates remain low in key populations.
For the 2025 UQ Giving Day, QCGC Research invited its community to help change the future for women diagnosed with cervical cancer and to lay the foundation for a minimally invasive blood test — the only initiative of its kind currently underway in Australia.
We successfully raised $51,155 from 78 wonderful supporters! Thank you!
Together, we’re helping change the future for women diagnosed with cervical cancer.
