Dr Marcelo Nascimento

A/Prof Nascimento is the first Gold Coast based Certified Gynaecological Oncologist specialised in surgical treatment and management of pre-malignant and malignant conditions of the female genital tract. A/Prof Nascimento is currently attending his private Gynaecologic Oncology practice at Pindara Specialist Suites, and operates at both sites, Pindara Hospital and Gold Coast Private Hospital. He was one of the senior surgeons at the newly formed Peritonectomy Unit / Advanced Gynaecological Cancer Surgical Department at the Chris O`Brien Lifehouse / Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, where he worked in 2017.

He received his Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1996 and Board Certification in Surgical Oncology in 1999. He then completed 3 years of subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology in Brisbane and at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, in Sydney.

A/Prof Nascimento is currently attending his private Gynaecologic Oncology practice at Pindara Specialist Suites and is the Head of the Gynaecologic Oncology Department at the Gold Coast University Hospital. He is also Associate Professor Griffith University Medical School since May 2014, actively contributing for the development of medical students in our community.
