Dr Helen Green

MBBS, FRANZCOG, CGO

Dr Helen Green of Embrace Gynaecology is a Gynaecological Oncologist specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of women with cancerous or precancerous gynaecological conditions.

Helen’s other interest is the use of minimally invasive surgery to treat a range of benign gynaecological conditions. Her focus is on providing excellence in care, with compassion and advocacy for women’s medical, psychological, social, cultural and sexual needs (with a special interest in menopausal management).

A graduate of the University of Queensland, Helen completed her specialist training in Gynaecology at the Gold Coast University Hospital. She subsequently gained a Certificate of Gynaecological Oncology after training at GCUH, at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse (Sydney), and at King Edward Memorial Hospital (Perth). Helen continued working as a specialist in Perth before returning home to the Gold Coast to start Embrace Gynaecology in 2017.

In recent months she has enjoyed travelling to Vienna, Broome, Sydney and Melbourne for professional workshops and conferences, and aims to apply the latest gynaecological oncology research to assist patients in Far North Queensland on her planned monthly visits to the region.

Helen is committed to improving the access of regional and rural women to gynaecological cancer care.  She understands the benefit of local care (when suitable) for the physical and emotional recovery of women with gynaecological cancer.  To this end, she will provide a monthly subspecialty service in Cairns and is able to provide telehealth appointments at all other times.
