Dr Shaun McGrath graduated from the University of Queensland medical school, before completing his internship and residency at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.  He obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2017, having completed all his training in south-east Queensland including Nambour, Redcliffe, Royal Brisbane and Women’s, and Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee hospitals.

He subsequently embarked upon subspecialist training in Gynaecological Oncology.  This included time at the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer (QCGC), comprising both the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Mater Hospital Brisbane, as well as two years at Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne.  In 2021 he was awarded Certification in Gynaecological Oncology (CGO).

Since 2021 he has worked as a staff specialist in gynaecological oncology at Mater Hospital Brisbane, where he is involved in teaching fellows, registrars, residents and medical students, and contributes to research through QCGC.  He is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland.

Shaun has recently commenced private practice through Bridges Health, Mater Medical Centre.  He has particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery, and pre-cancerous conditions of the genital tract.
