Dr Simon West

Dr Simon West is a certified Gynaecologic Oncologist with a comprehensive background in both advanced surgical care and holistic patient management. He completed his medical training at the University of Sydney before undertaking specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across metropolitan and regional centres in New South Wales. He achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in 2022.

Dr West completed his subspecialty training in Gynaecologic Oncology through the RANZCOG Certified Gynaecologic Oncology (CGO) program, training in high-volume cancer centres in both New South Wales and Queensland. He has expertise in the surgical management of complex benign and malignant gynaecological conditions, with a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques and enhanced recovery protocols.

With a background in physiotherapy and elite sport prior to medicine, Simon brings a unique focus to prehabilitation, functional recovery, and survivorship. He is passionate about multidisciplinary, patient-centred care and takes pride in tailoring management plans to the individual needs and goals of each patient.

Simon is also an active clinical researcher and educator, having published and presented at national and international meetings. He is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to women with gynaecological cancers throughout Queensland.
