Sentinel node biopsy (SNB) is a surgical procedure used to determine whether cancer has spread beyond a primary tumor into the lymphatic system. As SNB is increasingly used for the management of gynaecological cancers, it is important to ensure patients thoroughly understand its use and implications. Currently there are no studies to evaluate the patient experience or understanding of SNBin gynaecological oncology.

This study aims to enhance our understanding of the patient view of sentinel node biopsy from qualitative in-depth semi-structured interviews with women who have had surgery for endometrial and vulvar cancer.
